A Wayfarer strike group returns to the Quarry to fight Owen while Alexander is away running EVIL ERRANDS™. They have ultra balls to try and catch Owen in and wards from the Relic Fragment to stop the shadows. While much of the group contends with Owen's titanic form — with special guests Void Shadow Swarms, lightning storms, and GIANT METEORS — Koa and Mhynt find themselves sidetracked by Ein being Not Quite Dead and happily working for Alexander. Can they capture and extract both foes or will they be forced to mercy kill Owen?

They also discover that Alexander is due to leave for an errand in two days--giving them the perfect time to dive in to try to free him, and therefore seriously weaken Alexander's forces if they can.
