2023-08-25 - Forlas Spirit Nexus - Completed
Everyone appears at the Spirit Nexus, a place between worlds, where they have been summoned by a naïve, sparkling cloud-entity (dubbed "Voice" by Ghaspius). The Voice explains that the PCs have been sent in response to a call for help that they relayed from an unknown human hero, and that they need to save a world known as Forlas from some unknown crisis that threatens it.
The Voice answers their many questions and builds fresh new bodies for the PCs. All human PCs turn into Pokémon before they can enter Forlas, becoming a species that resonates with their soul in one or another way.

The Voice's public clarifications include:- The Voice only relayed to our universes a call for help coming from a human hero who had previously been summoned to resolve a crisis, but couldn't do it alone. Each PC agreed to answer the call, in one or another way.- “Apparently” normally heroes from other worlds are summoned one at a time.- Our souls are “just visiting” and will return when this is over, as if we’d never left.- At least one hero has been on Forlas for nearly thirty years, but “may” be an outlier.- Dying in Forlas also “may” send us home.- Powerful Psychic-types can control others, but the Voice says they’re not one of those.- Souls usually can’t retain memories from worlds that aren’t their own.- The Voice isn’t sure who they are and does not have a name (“Voice” is a moniker suggested by Ghaspius).- It’s the hero who made the call (not the Voice) who chose to put out a call to so many different universes.- The Voice has never fought anyone and is not aware of a war we would need to fight. Forlas is their world, and they know that it has mystery dungeons and thousands of species of beetle.- The Voice does not think they’re very much like the scientists they know, who they seem afraid of or intimidated by.- The Voice only just met the hero who made the call and does not know the nature of the crisis.- All Pokémon in Forlas, including the PCs, have short-range telekinesis and enough mobility to be able to pick up objects.- Our bodies are created brand-new and weak (initially level 5) because trying to pump more power into us all at once would make us unstable. However, we will grow stronger faster than normal Pokémon.- The Voice automatically translates our PCs' different languages so that they will seamlessly understand and be understood by others within Forlas.- Forlas is populated mostly by Pokémon (both sapient ones and 'wild' Pokémon which are not) and some smaller species of animals such as insects, fish and small birds/mammals; however, there are also humans on Forlas, transformed into Pokémon much like the human PCs.- The Voice says they’ve never summoned anyone before. They don’t know much about the PCs individually, but they trust them, since the fact they answered the call makes them heroes in the Voice’s eyes.
The Voice had some trouble sending the last few PCs; Steven in particular never properly entered the Spirit Nexus.
