Dave bumps into Nova at the Traveller's Haus and asks for a moment to tell him about Gerome's warnings about the human supremacist group. They wind up discussing humans, Nova's world, and the mysterious cloud that brought them here.

Nova suggests the cloud might be the same Voice of the Desert who supposedly summoned Jesse, but that the title may have been passed down to someone who is very new to it.
Dave notes that the cloud claimed to live in Forlas but also its knowledge of the world seemed limited to what you would read in an encyclopedia, and that it was naïve, had no name, and seemed to know some scientists but appeared to think of them with dread. He theorizes that the cloud is some kind of experimental Pokémon being held at a lab.
Nova suggests then it could be Mewtwo; Dave notes the cloud claimed not to be a powerful psychic, but Nova thinks it might not even know.
Nova explains that his world is ruled by a Deoxys emperor who was created as part of the same program as Nova himself. Nova's official designation is N-0-V-4, with the 4 being because he was the fourth attempt to create him.
