Andre approaches Dave at the Haus to tell him something Ridley learned about him in the Whispering Comb. Initially, Dave combatively takes Andre's side against Ridley - why the fuck is he blackmailing him into revealing private details about himself to others - but once Andre gets to the nature of his secret, Dave is quickly repulsed. He struggles with the notion of people assuming the moral authority to murder others after having an attempt made on his own life in his world, but also with relating to some of Andre's feelings though he wouldn't act on them. In the end, though, Dave believes that Andre won't be a danger to others in Forlas and agrees not to tell others about his actions for as long as that's the case.
