2023-08-26 - Blaguarro Outskirts - Completed
Dave, Odette, Isidora, Wes, Gladion and Bellatrix land in the outskirts of Blaguarro Town. There they meet three construction workers, Erva the Skarmory, Ryder the Gabite, and Jaak the Vigoroth (disparaged by the others as a city boy), who are initially hostile. In the end, however, Jaak, who becomes especially friendly when he learns some of the PCs are humans, assists them in stowing away on a cargo train to Frontier Town and helps them pilfer some extra-fancy clothes.

Gladion lands on top of Wes, injuring Wes's leg.
Ryder brings up at one point whether the arrivals are "Witching beasts". Erva explains: "Apparently the dawn and dusk watchmon are seeing something moving out in the darkness. Monsters, pokémon, monsters wearing the skin of pokémon, you name it. But when I took those shifts, I didn't see nothing. Bet they're sneaking moonshine up on those towers." The watchmon in question are Mav (Dodrio) and Reno (Noctowl).
We learn that the PCs' brand-new bodies appear to the locals as children, though they can also tell the PCs speak like adults, and that sapient Pokémon distinguish themselves from wilds by wearing at least a token article of clothing.
While on the way to the train, Dave casually asks Odette if she was human before she came there, which catches the attention of Isidora (who seems very nervous about humans) and Jaak (who is very enthusiastic about humans and thrilled to find 'believers'). Dave and Wes also reveal that they're human. Jaak explains in the 'old stories' humans turn up in Forlas and save the world with an inseparable partner, with whom they can share their immense power. Jesse Stranger is one such human, who supposedly saved the world.
Wes and Gladion bond a bit on the way despite starting off on the wrong foot, and Wes picks out a leg brace for his injured leg from the available clothing. Odette's extra jaws have 'a mind of their own', spewing insults, but on the train she chains her extra jaws shut before they can intrusively insult more people without her consent.
