Ch03: Finale ~ The Warpath Ahead

2024-01-06 - Escarpa Clan Camp - Completed

Halcón and Pyrrin lead a group of Wayfarers to the current Escarpa camp. They inform Chieftain Sierra of what they know about Brisa and the Shadow threat. Sierra is willing to hear them out, but also warns that she already has warriors en route to destroy part of the rail line. If the Wayfarers really feel that strongly about the rail's destruction, they'll have to race out and do something about it.

The remaining Wayfarers stick around to discuss the Shadow situation and what Sierra knows about Radiance.

Public notes

* Sierra doesn't seem too disturbed by the news that Brisa ran into some trouble out east. Brisa apparently set out one year ago to find her father; she'd expected to hear some kind of word from Brisa right around now, a year later.

* Sierra confirms that the "fire cat" who'd been traveling with Brisa when she left was named "Starr".

* Sierra is willing to accept a pause on the rail rather than its full destruction, assuming the Wayfarers can prove their conviction to her warriors. If the plans to negotiate don't work out, though, the Escarpa will simply destroy it properly later.

* She confirms that the Escarpa weren't planning to harm the citizens of Blaguarro, but rather warn them to stay inside while the Escarpa fight the shadow pokémon outside. They would also accept the aid of any Blaguarro citizens willing to fight, as well as the Rangers (implying the Rangers have already agreed to offer some help) and possibly the Wayfarers.

* She has met the Wandering Light (once) and confirms that the Light is able to wield Radiance, but the saint is reclusive these past few decades. She does believe that a crisis of this sort might be the sort of thing to draw the Light out, however.

* During their previous meeting, the Wandering Light asked Sierra to become the new Light so the current one could retire/pass on. Sierra turned the offer down at the time, but expects the Light to reappear to her soon and ask her again; she's grappling with the idea of accepting, as it would mean leaving behind her old life.

* Sierra explains that normally it's easiest for saints and wild lords and ladies to use Radiance, as they are divine or have more "primal power" respectively. However, normal pokémon can call upon it in dire straits. She demonstrates that she does have some ability to use Radiance herself.
