With much of the world explored and mapped, the Exploration Teams of old found themselves bereft of their primary focus. Many such guilds eventually fell to ruin, or rebranded themselves as Adventurer Guilds, focusing more on jobs and questing that required their dungeon delving expertise. Archie, and his partner Spencer - a Treecko - were two such Adventurers, working for a Guild based out of Treasure Town. Spencer was the one who found Archie when he first arrived in the Pokemon World, transformed into an Oshawott. The two became fast friends, and managed to overcome numerous other hopeful applicants and join the Treasure Town guild by learning quickly how to be an effective team.
Since joining the guild, the pair fell into the typical routine of Adventurers, completing jobs for the citizens of Treasure Town and other settlements. History, however, appeared to be repeating itself, as Mystery Dungeons long since faded were reappearing, leading to more and more demand for the services of the guild, and the rumblings of something more dangerous on the horizon. It was while following up on a rumor of a sighting of a strange hostile Pokemon that none had ever seen before that Archie once again found himself shunted out of the universe he called home, and thrown into another, even stranger one. The Oshawott worries for his friend often, and hopes to get back to him again.
Archie was always the less talkative of the pair, and being without Spencer has forced the Oshawott into the spotlight in ways he's not used to. He's often taciturn and thoughtful, and tends to lose focus on the goings on around him until spoken to, which often surprises him. Still, he tries his best to be helpful, and is earnest and trusting to a fault.
Even though he's something of a wallflower, he often seeks out company just to be in the presence of other people, and dislikes being alone.
Sacred Sword - Sacred Sword is an Egg move for the Oshawott species, and so Archie always had the potential to use it, he just had to learn he could. An aged Aegislash showed Archie the basics as payment rendered for a Guild quest to find the master sword Pokemon's missing Honedge pupils, who'd gotten lost in the Northern Desert - a dangerous place for a Steel Type to find themselves, but not so much a worry for a Water and a Grass Type like Oshawott and Treecko. Even though he's been reduced back to square one in terms of strength, Archie still remembers the lessons, and thus how to use the move.
Redirects the enemy team's next single target move onto the user, and grants the user +2 Evasion Stages. Cannot be used on successive turns.
Archie is all about putting himself in danger to protect his friends. Now he's learning to do it in a way that is less likely to blow up in his face!
Costs 5 tempo less to land a critical hit. May lower the target's Def by 1. Inflicts Splinters, which damages the target for 5% max HP each checkup.
Archie is, ultimately, a Hisuian Dewott, and that heritage manifests itself in this move. It combines the best aspects of Razor Shell with that of Ceaseless Edge, the signature move of Hisuian Samurott. At least, that's what he tells himself.
Truthfully, the genesis of this move is the infliction of Pain That Lasts. The kind of pain Owen inflicted purposefully in their fight against him following his aborted attempt on Frontier Town. The kind of pain Seth inflicted accidentally when they first met on the outskirts of that same town. The desire to hurt someone in a way they can't so easily bounce back from, to show the people who dish out that level of pain just what it feels like to be on the receiving end. To pay evil unto evil.
Rather than using any kind of Type energy to form a blade, to use this move Archie cuts his opponent with the scalchop itself, leaving behind shell slivers in the wound that cause lasting damage and makes it harder for the target to defend themselves, simply by making every movement hurt.

I've been RPing on and off for around fifteen years now, on various sites. The one I've remained on the longest is Pokecharms, and I'm also somewhat active on RPNation. I tend towards medium length posts, trying for a minimum of a hundred words or more. A particular weakness of mine is that I tend to be reactive, I have trouble taking charge and leading a scene. That's something I would like to work on. But, I do think I have a particular eye for detail and a decent enough memory for settings and events. Hopefully, I'll be able to give you all enough to go off of!
