Background

Astrid was raised in a nomadic tribe of feral A-Ninetales and Vulpix, where she was taught to be closed-minded and obedient. She escaped around the age of 16 to Lively Town as a stowaway, spending time as a refugee for a while until being employed by the Expedition Society as a cartographer and expedition officer.

Her world underwent a catastrophic cosmic event four years later that sent the planet into an unfortunate elliptical orbit around the sun, devastating the world order and ecosystem. She's been wrapped up in the ensuing politics and bloodshed ever since, working as a diplomat and trying to keep her paws clean. She rarely succeeds.

Astrid has the romantic instincts of a pickle jar. You can freely flirt with her and she will treat it innocuously because she just doesn't know any better. (She is not at all aromantic, to be clear. Just a dummy)

Exceptional move

Aqua Jet - Where Astrid comes from, a quarter of the world's surface area has been scarred irreversibly by the sun. In her grueling six-month campaign across that stretch of wasteland, her ice powers would often melt during the day if she manifested them for longer than a few seconds. While this was usually more of a drawback than a boon, she eventually improvised a way to bend this water and use it almost as potently as her ice. As an avid sprinter, she developed a new wrinkle to her Quick Attack technique, cloaking herself in water as she ran.

Hits twice in one action. May raise the user's Mag by 1. Removes one status ailment from the user.

Raw energy shoots down Astrid's tails and bubbles up at the tips of her paws, screaming to be released in bursts. With practice and enough Radiance built up, Astrid can sustain bursts of Radiance-laced jet streams to gain altitude and fly short distances. She struggles to do the same with Shadows.
