Background

The fourth build — the previous three builds were discarded — of an autonomous battle android developed by the Matriarch of Eternatus. Its primary orders were to keep peace and quell any uprisings within the collective of planets Eternatus absorbed as it traveled the galaxy. Despite its free-thinking nature, Matriarch constantly manipulated and gaslit it into believing it was working to promote peace and harmony throughout the universe.

But as it grew to oversee squadrons of non-autonomous type: fulls, it began to question its orders and whether it was truly doing the right thing with itself. When it came to realize the suffering it was helping inflict on others, it abandoned its squadrons. It slowly gathered allies to form a small rebellion against the Matriarch. The rebellion eventually grew to include a loyal espeon, a zacian and zamazenta sibling duo, the Archbishop of Eternatus, Lunala Chiron, and her husband, a broken dragon of light going by Bahamut. During this time, Nova also rescued a drowned mewtwo from Earth. He nursed Mewtwo back to health and slowly undid Team Rocket's forced "reprogramming" of Mewtwo's psyche. The two fell for one another, but Mewtwo's vulnerabilities to Eternatus' energy forced him to sit out what Nova intended to be the final confrontation.

Nova never returned. In fact, none of the rebellion members did with the exception of Bahamut, who had become vicious and enraged.

Come the present day, a strange helmeted creature vaguely resembling Nova is seen wandering around, preaching that the end of the universe is upon us and that the public needs to accept Eternatus as their savior.

Walking spoiler character from source fic. Don't think this should be an issue, since I tend to focus on the campaign setting. But please DM/ping/carrier pigeon/etc. if you want me to avoid source fic spoilers for any particular scene(s).

Exceptional move

King's Shield - In his home universe, Nova can currently make a projection of Zamazenta and use its giant shield head as a literal shield. Foes that try to strike him directly find themselves losing their will to keep attacking, much like how King's Shield causes contact moves to drop an opponent's Attack.

Hidden Power: Rebellious Soul

Grants +1 defense. The user's next Multi-Attack has Body Press and easy crit clauses. This carries over to subsequent turns, but applies Heal Block until Multi-Attack is used.

Unchained from the shackles of fate controlling his every action back home, Nova's spirit years for two distant pasts governed by the freedom to be any type and strike however he wishes. The struggle between spiritual desires and the limits of his temporary body takes physical form, channeling the energy that reflects harm done to him onto foes into his Multi-Attack.

... Maybe one strike can make a difference?

Umbral move: Umbral Guardian

Transfers 40% of Nova's max HP (20% if Agile, 60% if Strong) into a Guardian with defenses equal to his Defense + Def stages. It behaves as a Substitute, protecting Nova from attacks, but transfers debuffs to him.

Nova draws out familiar shadows and creates a Guardian to shield him. It resembles a certain canid pokémon described in Galarian legends.
