Sojaveña Ranger
Leaf Linden is a pokémon trainer from Kanto. Three years ago she set out on a journey with her starter, Tank the squirtle, to see the region, take on the league, meet new friends (and knock some uppity old friends down a peg or three), and maybe get just a *bit* of a breather away from home for a while. She's a competent battler with an Indigo League champion title, and after exploring Johto she and her team are getting ready to travel the Hoenn region next. She will definitely spend some more time at home after that, absolutely for sure, unless I dunno maybe you've heard something about the price of plane tickets to Unova going down recently or something, haha jk unless.
Leaf is cheerful, apparently unflappable, and loves few things more than a good joke. She very much enjoys independence but is always happy to help and to work with a team as long as she doesn't feel her own thoughts are being totally disregarded. She's nearly tireless and gladly throws that energy into whatever she does, be it a grand new adventure or standing up for what she believes is right, though her ability to think more than a few steps ahead while in an exciting or tense situation is just a bit questionable.
*Technically* she's not supposed to be tackling any more huge, dangerous problems after a previous run-in with Team Rocket, but hey, her folks don't have to know about this one, right?
...
Trailblaze - Leaf is eternally energetic, and always eager to charge straight into a new situation and get started getting things done. Even when barreling in full speed ahead might not be the wisest course of action. But hey, when's the "wisest" course of action ever been the most fun one? (Also, given everything else that learns it, lbr there's no way ponyta and rapidash *wouldn't* get trailblaze if they existed in the same generation as the TM.)
Costs 5 tempo less to land a critical hit. May raise the user's Speed by 1, or lower the target's Eva by 1. Cures the user's drowsiness.
There's work to do, and Leaf ain't slowing down 'til it's done. She draws on her boundless reserves of energy and drive to keep pace with the target, stabbing at their weak points with her horn and wearing down their ability to evade through dogged determination—they're not gonna lose her that easily.
Leaf learns +1 Combat Intel on the target. Raises Leaf's Atk, Def, Res, and Acc by 1.
Sometimes, in the depths of Shadow, even Leaf has to admit that winging it isn't working. Sometimes it's a disaster. Sometimes her recklessness just makes things worse for everyone. Maybe it's finally time to listen to the voice of reason in her head.
So. Analyze before acting: the environment, the situation, the marks. Make sure you're prepared for an attack from all angles. Don't exert any more energy than needed; strike with precision, exactly where you need to go so you can get out again. Identify the threats, know how they'll move before they do, and, if you've really got to fight, how to kneecap them as fast as possible. They can't hurt you if they can't get back up.
See? Much more *efficient*. After all, mother knows best.

Adventure Quest, like 50% of Blacklight Eternal, and a fair few D&D/TTRPG campaigns
• Nothing romantic, flirty, etc.—my character is a minor, she is not currently looking for an actual relationship (even with another minor), and I the player am just generally uninterested in any case.
• Would rather avoid my character getting put through the maximum whump plinko just for the sake of it; it's just not my bag/not how I prefer to explore characters going through a difficult time. If you need someone to interact with while *your* character is Goin' Through It, though, I might be up for that depending on how intense it gets.
• My energy for roleplay can fluctuate pretty wildly, so to be safe I'd prefer to avoid getting myself into a lot of long, involved scenes. Scenes that have a defined goal and aren't likely to go on for pages are preferred by default; if I'm up for more/think we can continue, I'll let you know!
Beyond that, I'm all ears—if you've got an interesting idea, run it by me and we'll see!
