Background

Ever since she was a kid, Laura wanted to journey in the Galar League with her pet purrloin, Salem. Instead, she missed out on circuit after circuit, pursuing further education instead at the insistence of her parents, until eventually she gave up on the dream. When she returned home from her first term at university with shattered mental health, only to find Salem missing and her parents indifferent, Laura snapped. She stormed out, adopted a new pokémon, signed herself up to a League circuit, and set out to find her goddamn cat.

Months later, she's trying to get deep enough inside the enigmatic Perihelion Association, convinced that they're conducting clandestine genetic experiments on pokémon spirited away from shelters, rehab programs, and the streets. She's not a remarkably accomplished trainer, but she's come into her own as a partner to her ace team members through her empathy and understanding for pokémon.

RP guidelines

Laura is often anxious or uncomfortable, but will generally push on unless she perceives overt hostility. If someone grills her hard enough, she may lash out or simply make herself scarce.

Exceptional move

Coaching - Laura talks herself down as a trainer for lacking many badges or other accolades, but she's actually a legitimately good trainer, who understands her pokémon and sees how to reach their potential. She's good at communication in battles, shedding her usual awkwardness, and can push her battle partners to do their best. You know – Coaching!
